Some stellar wines at affordable price points have come my way in the past few weeks. I have been tasting wines keeping in mind that great juice at a reasonable price is what most people are into right now! Of course the more expensive wines are awesome, but for everyday enjoyment why spend that kind of money when you don't have to? 2006 Briccotondo Barbera; Italy $12.99

90ts. and Top 100 of 2007, Wine Spectator

This full-bodied Barbera offers black fruits with hints of chocolate on the nose. It's soft, sweet, sexy tannins compliment the fruit for a long and crisp and finish.

2006 Rodolfo Malbec; Argentina $11.99

'05 Recieved 92pts. and "Top 100 Best Values of the Year", Wine and Spirits

'06 NOT YET RATED

With intense red tones and violet undertones, this Malbec is very fruity on the nose with hints of plums, peppers, and spices. Considerable weight on the palate with a well structured and well balanced mouthfeel. The finish is far from disappointing at the tune of $11.99.

2005 The Wishing Tree Shiraz; Australia $11.99

Dark ruby in color, it offers an aromatic array of spice box, pepper, red cherry, and blueberry. Restrained on the palate, this medium-bodied wine is made in a racy style with good depth and length.
